As soon as the fleet came out of hyperspace, they started firing. Spies had secretly found the location of the mining devices (enormous, spheric devices that deployed mines when a warship got within range), and the Remnant tacticians had figured out what a safe range would be for the fleet. From here, the cruisers fired special KE rounds, which would push the devices away from the cruisers, towards Coruscant, and towards its space defense stations. The rounds had been designed so that they would cause movement in only one direction. The computers fired round after round, pushing line after line of each device away from the fleet. Coruscant's first line of defence would be easily neutralized.
After only minutes of slow firing and even slower advance, the first devices impacted against the secondary space stations. Enormous explosions ensued, as some explosions triggered the mines within the devices, causing greater and greater damage.
The fleet formed up in three columns, with the 2nd Battlegroup flanking on the right, the 3rd on the left and Alpha-1 in the centre. Behind them, the 2nd support lined up, ready to help any battlegroup that took heavy losses. The Chiss, and the Hapians, whose ships had the best targeting and missile interception capability, went ahead, forming a dense battle line of small cruisers and Battle Dragons.

Immediately, the Coruscant Space Stations struck back. The space went gray with missiles directed at the fleet, warhead after warhead of nuclear material.
This was useless.
The Chiss fleet opened fire, aiming their charric guns at a widened angle, causing the missiles to explode. Out of thousands of missiles that had set out to defend the planet, only a couple of hundred would hit the fleet. The air was filled with explosion after explosion as each warhead ignited two or three others, and then three more.
"Starfighters are scrambling. We read at least 50 squadrons. I see Y-Wings, A-Wings, X-Wings and some other aircraft. Get ready!"
High Admiral Daal stood on board the Revenge, a modified Arc Hammer, armed to the teeth with the newest weapon technology. "Chiss and Hapes fleet, get ready. Prepare anti-starfighter weaponry. ETA for the first wave is 30 seconds." Did the Republic really believe 50 squadrons of miscellaneous aircraft would be enough to defend Coruscant? As he stood there wondering, the Space Stations opened turbolaser fire: The fleet was within range now. "2nd and 3rd Battlegroups, open fire on those stations. Concentrate on one at a time. Don't let them take down our ships. 2nd Support, stand-by for imminent assault."
With ominous silence, the fleet obeyed. The Ion cannons opened fire, concentrating on only 5 stations. Their concentrated ion blasts took down their shields, and much of their weaponry. The Siege cannons followed suit: With a concentrated burst of plasma fire, the space stations exploded. 5 down, hundreds to go.
"Admiral, we are within starfighter range. ETA to stations is 20 seconds." "Release all ships."
As he said this, two X-Wings screamed past the bridge. Those must be elite pilots, he thought, as they had managed to get past the Hapes' and the Chiss' screenfire. He saw them firing on the Revenge, but the ship didn't even shudder. Daal watched with a certain sadness as the two starfighters, and five other behind them, were immediately shot down, the starfighters exploding in a brilliant display of fire.
"1st Wave has been destroyed. We are reading over 1800 squadrons, Admiral. That's 43,000 fighters. Chiss and Hapians are asking for Star Destroyer cover fire. They'll be knocked out if they stay there."
"Order the fleet to advance, and Chiss and Hapes fleets to take support positions alongside the Destroyers. Protect our Cannons, Siege and Ion. Nothing gets to them, understood?" "Yessir! ETA 10 seconds."
Coruscant had disappeared, as thousands upon thousands of starfighters filled the space in between. As he watched the Republic fighters line up for battle, Daal felt a tingle of excitement down his spine.
"Open fire!"
And the Imperials let go a barrage of turbolasers, cannon fire, missiles and warheads. The Kinetic Energy rounds wreaked havoc upon the enemy fleet, as they threw dozens of ships around space, destroying even more. Whole squadrons were wiped out by concentrated shots.
And then, all too soon, the starfighters were upon the Imperials. This time, even the Revenge shook as hundreds of missiles impacted on its armour.
"Get me a damage report! All power to the shields and turbolasers, engines at 5%!" Daal shouted the orders, although he knew that every single ship in the fleet had already done this, as he had briefed them on the proper army protocol. Already, the assault had proved dangerous, one dreadnought, and some 15 corvettes, along with several of the Chiss' frigates were tilting dangerously or envelope in violent explosions.
"Republic warships approaching! We can see two MC80 cruisers, and several corvettes." Daal didn't even answer to that, as those cruisers meant no threat to his fleet.
"Relay to all Emperor and larger destroyers that they are to target the main mobile space station, understood?"
"It's shields are too strong-" More explosions. "It could take hours, my Admiral."
"Tell the fleet to keep moving forward, we don't stop for any reason. I want all Emperor and above to encircle the main station. They know what to do. Tell the Cannons to eliminate all secondary stations around the primary target." Daal gripped the bridge rails tightly, as he watched the Republic's elite fight the Empire's elite... and lose. Already, the Empire had managed to achieve an overwhelming air superiority: over 90,000 fighters were released, and an additional 30,000 bombers. With extreme anti-starfighter fire coming from the Chiss, furthermore, those pilots didn't stand a chance.

OOC: Sorry, that's all I can send. The rest of my fleets are at Gydine.
Admiral Clemence, who was leading the operation as he was the most experienced Admiral there, stood on the bridge of his Nebula, as the rest of the Black Moon forces appeared around him. They were behind the Imperial fleet, which seemed to be taking a beating.
"Admiral Clemence to all ships! Deploy the starfighters! Even your power between the shields, engines, and weaponry! I want to get there as quick as possible, but be well armed and ready at the same time. All starfighters, engage at will."
As the Nebula began to move, Clemence opened up a line to the Imperials.
"This is Admiral Clemence to the Imperial Fleet. Black Moon has sent you some reinforcements. Permission to join the fray?"

"This is Admiral Daal of the Imperial Fleet speaking. I advice you don't ---" Scratchy sounds as telecommunications are scrambled by a nearby station. An explosion, and then the communication resumes, "Repeat, don't move to support Imperial centre. Re-direct all firepower to the flan---" More scratch "Repeat proto-- weaponry to --- deployed. Do not --inforce centre."
The Imperial fleet had not halted its advance. Despite the advancing enemy fleet, which was expected to flank them soon, and the enormous resistance put up by the starfighters and the platforms, the fleet had kept a steady advance. Finally, they were within Coruscant's ultimate line of defence: The Class 1 Command Battle Stations. Heavily shielded, and even more heavily armed, these battle stations had been rumoured to have the capability of taking on entire capital ships on their own. With two of these Stations within range, and some lesser, but still dangerous, Class 2 stations firing on the fleet, the losses were beginning to tally up.
"Re-direct all power to the shields. Minimize turbolaser and battery cannon and re-direct all fire against starfighters." "Shields holding at 78%, boosting back to 90%, Admiral!"
There was an eerie pause in the battle as the number of shots in the battlefield diminished drastically, and then the terrifying sound of Anti-Aircraft guns firing with renewed efficiency.
The Siege Cannons (ships with VERY large turbolaser repeating double cannons, nuclear/anti-matter missile launchers and plasma heavy cannons) had begun targeting the smaller stations. They were the only ships in the entire ship capable of dealing with the stations in a timely manner, as they packed far more damage in a single shot than a deck of turbolasers could usually manage.
Meanwhile, the Super Cruisers (all Emperor+ sized ships) had begun to cruise around the nearest Class I Battle Station. If only they could take it out, it was suspected that almost 1/4 of the battle stations would be wiped out, and chaos would ensue in the rest.

Amiral Clemence cocked his head at the comm officer. "You get that?" The comm officer studied his screen for a second. "I believe they want us to cover their flank, sir." The Admiral nodded. "Then let's do that. All ships, the Imps want us to cover their flank. Looks like they're heading straight for the planet. All starfighters, stay with the capital ships, don't stray too far."
As they approached the rear of the Imperial formation, they ran into the NR ships that were attempting to flank the Imperial group. A NR Nebula pulled alongside the Admiral's flagship, named the Redemption, and both ships let loose with their cannons.
"Sir! Losing power to port shields! Should I reroute the aft ones?" yelled the shield operator. "Negative! Keep all shields at full strength! Reroute power from the engines and anything else that isn't necessary!" answered the Admiral. "Roger that sir. Rerouting now." The ship began to decelerate noticably. But it seemed that the NR Nebula was taking a beating. A pair of Victory II-class SD's pulled alongside on the otherside of the NR Nebula, and began assaulting her from that side. All of the sudden, the shields failed, and the barrages from both the Victorys and Redemption landed on her hull. Holes began to appear along the hull until a shot hit the bridge, destroying the ship.
The 2 Victory's took up flanking positions around the Redemption, as the Admiral got a status report. "Shields are a bit weak, but steadily recharging. Slowly rerouting power back into the engines, we're at about 74% now. Weapons at full power." "Good." said the Admiral. "Continue to move up."

The New Republic fleet had developed itself into a large column with multiple waves. It was beginning to flank the Imperial Fleet, although it had trouble continuing to the rear because of a small pirate group, although this would be dealt with soon enough. With the Viscount Star Defender being the flagship of the fleet, the Republic had masses of fire-power, which rivalled an Executor Star Dreadnought.
The Planetary Shields began to come alive, ray after ray overlapping with a smooth curve. Within twenty minutes the planet was covered with a shield of overlapping bubbles. Meanwhile, the moons of Coruscant was delivering their own orbiting battle stations to the battle, adding extra crossfire to the visible flanks and rear. The variety of ships was beginning to show their strength. Time was showing that the opposite was happening here, at Gyndine it was the Republic boxed in, now it was the Remnant.

"2nd Battlegroup Emperors are in position." "3rd Battlegroup Emperors, in position." "Alpha-1 in position." "All Capital Cruisers are in position around the three main battle stations, Admiral!" "Very well, deactivate all systems, and isolate the electrics and backups. Seal all the decks. All starfighter support to our capital ships. Nothing gets through. Understood?" "Yessir!"
The lights went out throughout the Revenge. On the nearby capital cruisers, the lights went out too. All turbolasers ceased fire, and even the engines blacked out.
Within the cruisers, the crews watched as every single deck was compartmentalized, as if that deck had been blown into space. A metallic voice said over the comm. units: "This is for your safety. Please remain in all battle stations. This is for your safety. Please remain in all battle stations."
Just over 10 of the galaxy's largest ships had just turned off their engines.
Nobody noticed that three of them were beside on station, three on the opposite side of another, and the Revenge beside the middle one. Nobody noticed it would serve as the perfect circuit.
"Electric Potential Difference is at maximum differential strength."
Explosions throughout every ship, as missiles that had been taken down before hit the cruisers. Still, no counter fire.
"Power potential is rising. ETA to maximum power capacity is 2 minutes."
More damage.
"DC established; AC is out!"
"Open the channels. Fire the electromagnetic field generator."
From the three groups of ships clustered together, an enormous beam of lightning emerged. The lightning engulfed the ships, then the station; it jumped to the middle station, where the Revenge's generators attracted the electric current. From there, it followed a path to the next station, where it engulfed the cruisers there, and the capital ship.
The lightning spread, coursing through nearby ships and battle stations, wiping out any unfortunate starfighters who got near enough to act as conductors. The destructive weapon fired for almost 3 minutes.
As abruptly as it had started, the lightning ended. The battle stations had been partially melted, their shields augmenting the strength of the electric differential, and contributing to their destruction. Thousands of starfighters, empty shells and battle stations hung in space, their original configuration transformed into a delicate, thin elongated bridge of metal that hung between the battle ships. The outline of several NR cruisers and battle stations that had been caught within the weapons reach, and had been melted as a result, lay in between.
The battle had changed.
Much of the enemy fire had ceased. None of it, except for whatever missiles and turbolaser rounds were being fired by the fleet, was coordinated. Furthermore, all automated defense systems, except those nearby to the moons of Coruscant, had been disabled, and some were even firing at NR starfighters now.
"INITIATE BACKUP GENERATORS, NOW!"
The cruisers' lights came back on, the decks lighting one by one. The shields creeped back up as well, but even then small blasts of lightning were produced by the ships as they aimed to balance their charge excess.
"How long until we are battle worthy?" "At least 10 minutes until shields are effective, and 20 until the targetting systems work properly. Engines will take longer. Emergency systems will be up and running in all cruisers in 3 minutes, so basic anti-air and anti-missile capabilities will be engaged soon enough." "Tell all the fleet to reverse direction, and engage the Republic fleet." "Yessir. Battlegroups are turning now." "Good."

OOC: I honestly don't know what to say. What have you done to the shields and other ships? I can't see how an electric current could destroy a shield, please enlighten me anyway, because I'm confused.

OOC: An electric current releases an enormous quantity of energy in a very short time, resutling in enormous Power. This Power is enough that it can very rapidly heat up substances that are not sufficiently conducting and have a melting point below that of 5,000°C (i just made that up ). Since the power is so great, and cruisers actually have additional sources of energy (shields, engines, computer mainframes) that are conducting, the electric current gains additional energy from these sources, and, overheating them, causes them to explode. Thus, the explosions, along with the extra energy can melt entire ships, and cause intense power. Even if a ship isn't destroyed by the current, it's metallic parts and computer mainframes are bound to suffer serious damage, as hinges become welded together, and the mainframes are shortcircuited.

----------------------
The Republic Fleet trembled. The devastating weapon had just destroyed a large portion of the defences in orbit in that vicinity and the planetary shields had gone down quicker than they had gone up. The show of force and strength had backfired on the Republic, instead of having the Remnant Fleet pull back, they had a renewed hope at battering the Republic while it's defences were down. The fleet continued to plough along, initiating several waves to try and halt the attacking force long enough for some reinforcements to arrive. While the defenders attempted to count their remaining ships and form together, a wedge formation slotted itself perfectly onto the scanners. It was the reinforcements from Anaxes, which consisted of two Viscount Star Defenders to lead the renewed effort. Although more reinforcements had been promised, it would be impossible for them to arrive this quickly, Anaxes being one of the closest neighbouring systems had luckily a large complement of defending ships to assist the core worlds. The Anaxes Fleet had emerged just before the passing moon, which would take some time to go around. They therefore was mostly configured to attack the rear of the Black Moon Pirates, and possibly encircle around the flanks if the opportunity presented itself. More starfighters joined the fray in two waves, before a mixture of fighter and bomber squadrons then presented themselves in all their destructive glory.

The Imperial Remnant was getting hammered.
Although the space stations had been devastated, they had already inflicted very heavy damage upon the fleet. Furthermore, the Republic fleet was coming in heavy and strong, and the remnant's strength was beginning to fail.
"All of our Command Ships are vulnerable. We already report failing mainframes in three of the Emperor Star Destroyers."
"Fine. Gather the fleet around the three command nucleii.Minimize inter-cruiser distance to shortest allowed by protocol. Nothing gets through, understood?"
Although Daal understood that what he was doing was dangerous, as it would make the fleet highly vulnerable to non-planar maneouvres, it was the only way to stop the NR from punching through their lines. Also, with three distinct formations, it was likely that they would be able to react much better, creating potent crossfire zones between the groups.
"Advice Black Moon to form up beside us. Tell them to dispose of their ships as they please, and to please open cannon fire. Their fire rate isn't enough."
Then the Anaxes' reinforcements arrived.
"Admiral, another fleet is incoming!"
"What? Can we tell where it's from?"
"Incoming angle suggests that they came from Anaxes. We're almost sure, Admiral, since otherwise they would have stopped at our blockade at Brentaal."
"Very well. Relay the information in the maximum encrypted channel. Tell Zorko's ships they have someone on their tale."
