Black Moon Pirates story

Unofficially founded on Kuat in 11 ABY, it was started by a Corellian with an active mind. Around 9 ABY, Dan was the captain of the Nebulon B frigate, Trojan Horse. Officially a freighter, he was secretly acting as a pirate.

With a vast wealth, contacts and spies all over the place, he was just about ready to take pirating as a full time job. Just before, however, he was contacted by one of his contacts, a Kuat Star Destroyer engineer. He offered Dan the chance to take an almost complete Imperial Class Star Destroyer for himself. Dan would supply the men and money, and he would provide the codes. Dan took this offer, and fabricated a freighter run to Kuat with supplies for the Star Destroyer.

Dan managed to get enough men on the ground with the shipment of "supplies," and took the Star Destroyer. Damage was sustained with pursuing Star Destroyers, but the turbobanks hadn't been put into operation yet. Luckily, the shields worked, and after the Trojan Horse dumped it's blind hyperspace jump coordinates, both ships were able to escape without much damage. The new Star Destroyer was christened Black Talon.

Dan's vast wealth was spent on a base in an abandoned mining station somewhat near Taris, and an assortment of black market ships, including TIE Fighters TIE Interceptors, several X-wings, A-wings and Y-Wings, TIE Bombers, several Corellian Gunships, Skipray Blastboats, Lambda-class shuttles, a couple Kuat Drive Yards Escort Carriers, and several Clone War era LAAT/i gunships. Other ships were gained through pirating operations.

After several years of expanding, the Black Moon had grown into much more than a pirating ring. Losing their capital, Taris, to the Mandolorians, the Black Moon fled to Lok, where it expanded.

Many more ships were obtained, and a Orbital Shipyard was obtained through Kuat Drive Yards. The Imperial Remnant and Black Moon Pirates went to war, which was fought mainly over Naboo until Dan and it's new leader, John Hammond, agreed to a cease fire. Relations between the two grew, but remained fragile. But at that time, it also saw the passing of Dan's close ally and friend, Galor Iram at the hands of the Imperials. It also started a new chapter, with the formation of the Imperial Coalition, led by Galor Iram's force sensitive daughter, Jalua Solast. Dan became extremely close friends with her, and the Black Moon Pirates and Imperial Coalition have remained close allies, banding to gether many times in the face of danger, and always finding safe haven in each other's territories.

After the formation of the Coalition, it also saw the downfall of the Republic, in which the Black Moon Pirates assisted the Imperial Remnant in taking their capital of Coruscant. Soon after the Republic controlled Bespin and Duros were taken. The Republic shattered, and now remains hidden in the depths of the galaxy, despite being hunted by the Black Moon Pirates.

But with this great expansion saw great change. Dan decided to change the Black Moon Pirates mission, and changed it to just Black Moon. Not a dinky pirate force anymore, it was now a full fledged government, determined to remain in good terms with the Coalition, and provide for its people. Led by Dan and his council of Admirals, Black Moon is now striving to be the best it can be.
