Got ourselves a new map. I'll be updating it to reflect the current view of things.

I'm gonna add that info to the original post but someone on the starwars.com forums posted it. They combined that original Nav-Computer with that Star Wars Atlas one and tweaked the colours etc to make it more suitable. I like it personally, and its got the best of both maps. It's free to share and edit for non-commerical use (i.e. us) which is also pretty cool since before map creators i found wasn't really that clear on if people could or not. Not completed it to a suitable level just yet, but got most of the galactic empire's territory done now in a deeper shade of blue (only just) but added a thick white border around it with slightly transparent label in the center of the territory so people can easily see which belongs to who. I'm not sure when I'll complete it since it is 3:20am atm and I gotta get a little bit of sleep. So tomorrow I'll be stuffing my face and probably forget all about this again Either way, I hope to have it completed for say... January? Although I suck at deadlines. Edit: Remember the suggestion about putting fleets on the map? Well we have something else to experiment with now. If i can get icons of ships from Star Wars and colour them in white, I may also be able to begin making tactical maps for us to use in space battles. Although I'll possibly attempt that in a couple of months time. Actually, how would you want to see ships moved or possibly fleets? Arrows or something else? I'm not too sure what would fit to be honest. Would we also have to include timescale on that for it to work? I.e. the arrows from two jumps ago disappear?

Let me know what you think about the style of the factions, borders, labels etc. I know the Imperial Coalition's now got a straight bottom border but hey, just encourages them to get some more territory further south to make themselves important Oh btw Dan, wasn't sure on what colour you'd like your faction to be. I figured silver wouldn't look right with a white background, any suggestions? Also, the label will probably be too small to actually fit the text into your territory (I might be able to squeeze it into Duro or Lok if i made it very tiny), so any suggestions for that or leave it for now? Edit: Remind me to make Hapes look less like a penis. Attachments:

Oh yeah, the map is no where near complete hence the Mandalorians aren't there, but will probably come next alongside Dan's Black Moon. This map is at a slight tilt from what I can see, so the territories look a little different. Either way, Imperial Coalition now got less territory because there is no point them have depths of empty space if they have nothing significant there to protect. I'll add the Mandalorians in an orange like you said, it was the first thing what came to mind for myself also. Jedi I'll try Cyan first because I'm not sure how a deep green would look on top of that blue. Sith I agree should be red, Purple I've been using simply for the Imperial Coalition as a kinda 'Royal Purple' kind of variation, since I couldn't use 'Royal Blue'. But you all agree Blue best choice for the Imps? That was what came to my mind, and if Republic ever comes back then a bright red rather than the Sith Crimson?
Anyway, apart from the colours, you all agree that it's a good map to use? I can't edit first posts to add attachments or modify them it seems so I'll try to keep this topic better by linking to the post with the attachment on the first page. Photobucket won't accept such a large file, they seem to always resize them and I can use imageshack but it's a pain to be honest. I'll if there is an alternative though.

Since Dan's expansion (let me know if you want extra changes) is now in place, I've also had some feedback from Delso on what he would want and I know roughly what I'd want with the Imperial Coalition, I can start putting in these changes tonight if necessary. I don't want to mess with the Mandalorian's till I've gotten Delso's opinion on what he suggested and my suggestions. I'll edit the Imperial Coalition and the Galactic Empire though in my next edit. They have lost a little bit of territory so far around Corellia but they will gain around half or more of the Imperial Coalition's current territory. The Coalition will have expanded southwards and gotten itself some more secure systems which are unlikely to fall and will have a huge boost from the Coalition's light taxes and trade network.
I will also try and get some more neutral planets to pop up like Obroa-Skai which isn't a threat to anyone and of little interest since it doesn't take sides. How would you all feel about introducing some small NPC factions on the map eventually, not really expansionist but there to add a bit of atmosphere with different goals etc.
