Dan entered the Lok R&D building, where he was greeted by the Supervisor. "Good day, sir. Thank you for coming." Dan nodded. "You have new systems to show me?" The man nodded "Oh yes sir, follow me."
Dan followed the man down a hallway, to a turbolift flankled by two guards. Going down the turbolift, they reached another hallway, with more guards. Down the hallway, they reached a door, where the supervisor punched a 5 digit code into the wall, while swiping his passcard. They entered a bustling room.
"This is our core, sir." said the supervisor. Dan looked around. "Lets begin." he said. The man nodded. "Of course sir." He walked over to a wall where a suit of armor was hanging. "What is that?" said Dan.
"AVALON Personal Protection System:
A special type of armor engineered developed using the old Katarn armor design that was used during the Clone Wars. It's layered with a number of special substances known privy to us. The blast mesh and treated plastoid can a great many slugs and will also break up a good number of blaster shots before the energy diffusion properties fail, and even then an additional handful of shots will be diffused thanks to the density of the armor material. The suit is underlayered with a special cortosis fiber. While lightsabers will damage the other layers of armor, this fiber will protect soldiers from the blow at least once, though the weakness of the fibers means that it may break under heavy blows, and the lightsaber blows destroy outer layers of armor, damaging their ability to stop weapons. The helmet is of a sleek, more rounded design, with an advanced visor more akin to the shape of Storm Trooper's, but with an advanced HUD like its Katarn predecessor. It has built in modules that allow for the optional use of Wristblades and wristblasters. The suit also has a pressure seal, allowing momentary exposure to vacuum and loss of air. It's designed not to limit its wearer's movement much, but still takes some training to get used to."
"Wow..." said Dan. "That's good..." The supervisor nodded. "Oh yes sir. And we developed the CASSANDRA to keep track of them all." "CASSANDRA?" asked Dan.
"CASSANDRA Active Combat Radar System:
Specialized combat "Radar" designed to sync with the AVALON armor, to be used in close combat or special operations. It has two modes, a Heads-Up mode, and a Filter mode. Heads-up mode displays a small box in the corner of one's vision, or on a small display on the wrist. This display covers a radius of about 40 feet, and is what anyone using the CASSANDRA System to check the system to observe the battle sees. Using a special combination of technology, it highlights all humanoids. Friendlies transmit data that marks them as blue dots on the screen, while unknowns are Red dots. The Radar displays the target's general line of sight and position, relative to the user. If a dot is tapped, the radar can zoom in to give a detailed view of things such as heart-rate, body temperature and even give a vague idea of what they are carrying. Distressed targets (those who are sweating and have a high heart-rate) will blink. Allies transmit such data as their names, and also what they are equipped with and the general rating of their armor, allowing one to monitor the condition of troops under fire. Filter mode places an indigo tint over one's HUD. It displays anyone in sight's Line of Sight, and highlights their information as if one was doing a detailed view of their biometric data and such. Also, it tracks the bodily responses of a person, giving a quick red highlight of what movements they may be about to make about 4 to 5 seconds before they make them, which show up as a reddish kind of reverse afterimage. These predictions are much more vague about Droids due to them having less signs of movement than an organic, but when the system alerts one to the movement a droid is making, it is very definite."
"Exceptional..." said Dan. "Anything else?" "This." said the Supervisor. He pulled out a small object.
"D-Type O2 Grenade:
It looks similar to a time bomb, but the central area, which contains explosives in a time bomb, is clear transparisteel with a bronze colored sphere suspended in it. When detonated, the D-Type Grenade creates a visible shockwave in the air, and almost instantly consumes all oxygen in its blast radius. If the reaction occurs when an organic is not currently wearing something sealed, it even permeates into the body, dissolving the oxygen in the blood, killing them by collapsing their lungs with the sudden pressure change or simply from an instantaneous asphyxia. Any permeable substance is penetrated by the blast, meaning even tanks and other things are not protected from the detonation. Only droids are completely protected from the effects of the D-Types, though the detonation will temporarily disrupt blasterfire as well. It has a radius of about 3 meters, though special 5 and ten meter variations exist. It can be set on remote detonation, timer or for impact."
"And for your anti-armor:
MORDRED Portable Anti-Tank Mass Driver Rifle:
Large specialist rifle that magnetically accelerates a large slug with a high muzzle velocity for high armor penetration. Requires two hands to carry or must be slung over the shoulder, and when fired requires two hands because of the weight of the magnets. It has a special optical scope with multiple zoom that features laser range finding and if close enough, a special spectrography filter to find weaker points in the armor. Due to its use of magnetic acceleration to fire the slug, it has very minimal recoil, but requires a few seconds between each shot for the magnets to cycle. Clip holds only ten of the large shells. Most infantry is killed in a singled shot and at the right range, several could be taken out in one due to the penetration power, but it's primary purpose is anti armor. The MORDRED Rifle is able to pierce or damage most vehicles and even starfighter armor, if you could aim the shot."
"Wow..." said Dan again. "Are they ready for mass production?" "Yes." said the supervisor. He held out a clipboard. "With your signature?" Dan signed the document, and left.
