The 116th SFSG moved straight into formation. The planet they were about to invade was one with no known inhabitants. In fact, the biggest threat to the fleet was once they had established their base. The planet was used by inhabitants of local systems as a jump planet, where they could correct their hyperdrives after using the old LiMerge Hyperspace Routes. It took almost four hours before all of the necessary craft had been positioned safely on the planet in a location of strategic value. A mountainous area gave the settlers a chance to use the peaks to their advantage. By positioning the base on the mountain cliffs, they could fire out from a great height and also keep the most important structures within the mountain ranges, making assaulting very tricky. If an attacking force didn't want to be weakened by climbing up the mountains with full assault gear, they would need to enter the valleys, where numbers would count less and fortifications would be hard to get through. The mountain valleys also provided a natural shelter for buildings, by extending the cave networks and building into the mountains, they would reduce being seen. The unpacking began while the rain poured down on the soldiers, it would take time to build the base, so shelters were the first areas to be constructed. With two hours before darkness, the soldiers worked heavily to get their tents established so that dropships could return to the fleet and that itself could be moved to a safe position.

With half of the base burrowing into the side of the mountain, the base had a relevantly safe location. It's surrounding valleys made ground assault difficult with the defender's being able to use the terrain to their advantage, seeking the high points and creating ambush zones. The planet itself was unimportant, nothing of interest laid here and it would be unlikely that any colonists from neighbouring systems would both with the planet either.
It had taken a few days of solid working through night and day but the base had been completed enough to house all of it's occupiers in shelter. Although it sounded quite finished, it was far from the reality expected by most. Rooms to be carved out of the mountain rock had a big sign with 'Conference Door' or something similar, and yet to be carved out. The sleeping quarters wasn't up to the standard required but could be finished once the remanding work had been completed. The base was a buzz of activity even without the engineers, officers and soldiers walked throughout the maze of corridors and quickly found themselves at ease in these somewhat difficult conditions. Luckily for them, the plans of a new offensive was in the making, giving them the better living quarters of starships. That would take a while though.

With Operation Unifying Dawn approaching, Galor Iram was well rested and prepared for the week's events which would be seriously tricky to get right. The timing would need to be perfect and once in motion, a tidal wave of good news should reach his ears. If not, lives would most likely be wasted and the hopes of continuing the war would be vanquished for another three months or even longer. The troops was ready within the fleet and his ships had distributed supplies out to keep itself functioning during the Operation. The 116th Special Forces Support Group was being processed for a new name, and restructuring was essential to this goal. These warriors who had betrayed the corrupted Republic they once served for now had an even worse job, turning others to their cause. This would require dedication on all fronts, but with plans now set in place, the Operation had begun. "Admiral Qusar, initiate Phase One-A", "Yes Sir" Came the roaring reply of the seasoned commander. Within the next half an hour most of the Fleet had dispersed into hyperspace towards their objectives.
