High Admiral Twi'lek Danna Jebryl of the Coalition Navy and Lord General Human Ramos Turbaran of the Army appeared before the holonet. They were both in uniform and with both of them representing the two main military forces, it was clear to the citizens that this was important. It was Danna who began, her tone set to bring the news to the population.
"Three days ago, Empress Jalua was kidnapped by suspected Black Guard agents. It was a clearly planned and angered result from the kidnapping of the Imperial Supreme Commander John Hammond. He was kidnapped and as you will probably know, our special forces recently retrieved him", she then looked at Ramos who continued with the message. "As a gift of our kind act, the Imperial Remnant" now using their original title, "declared war on us yesterday evening. We originally suspected that the Black Guard was working independently, although we are looking into the possibility that the two was working with each other to bring us into a weakened position. Because of their act of war, all of our plans will go ahead" he finished, letting the news settle in. Many of the citizens would be facing hard times, and they knew the possibilities, this wouldn't exactly be a shock to them, but it would be devastating news.

"We know you have been preparing for an emergency for months now, carrying out regular drills, going onto rationing, collecting weaponry from local collection points and preparing for the worst. We understand that it was a difficult time, but these changes are set to remain for the duration of the war" she said, her voice was planned to be calming and reassuring, but she couldn't do much about the news. Being the male human, it was Ramos that was breaking the harshest of the news. "Therefore, we will be calling up all citizens under the age ranges of sixteen to thirty-six. Volunteers can join onwards to the age of forty-five during this period, although skilled tradesmen will be recruited from all ages to train our new soldiers. We ask that the rest of you remain calm, keep your houses well supplied and begin to work for the war effort. Every action on your part will be multiplied on the front-line. Those looking for work will be placed into factories and there will be continued construction of these on all Coalition planets, so those wishing to actively do their part, can do so. All trained civilians will be issued with call up papers within the next three days, and more will be issued within the next three weeks for those requiring training. We will keep you updated with the war effort but we shall also pursue our political aims in restoring peace across all regions. While the Empress is missing, the two of us will be running the state.
