A pretty, young, but smart looking Twi'lek appeared on screen. She was looking nervous, and behind her, thousands of people were shouting so loudly at some closed gates that they practically drowned her voice out.
This is a breaking news report.
As the whole galaxy knows by now, Anderson, the Imperial Remnant, led by a new, mysterious commander, has just struck at the heart of the New Republic, Coruscant.
The Imperial Remnant has taken the planet's orbit, but they have not yet attempted to land. The Republican forces are holding permanent positions, but the situation is tense. Although Coruscant is a stronghold, and it is likely that the Empire would suffer enormous losses in the first four to six waves, anonymous military leaders have expressed serious doubts about the food supply. The battle has only lasted a few weeks, yet already the crowds are desperate, with millions starving daily.
To top it off, Anderson, just a few hours ago we found out that the Remnant has been offering enormous food supplies to the city, but that Republic officials Outside of Coruscant have denied permission for these ships to land, or even deploy, the supplies. The people are outraged, and already say that the change of government would be very welcomed. Unless a Republic commander arrives to save the day, which is unlikely, given the devastating losses at Mon Calamari, Denon, Fondor, Corellia and Anaxes.
This is Rett'y F'ee, for InterGalactic News, reporting, live, from Coruscant.
The scratchy news report of the teary eyed Twi'lek slipped, and died.
