Hammond had been back for only a few hours. He was still wearing his cape and armour, and he looked terribly tired. Nevertheless, the Imperial Remnant had invaded an enemy planet, and Hammond wanted to overview this operation personally.
"The army's tactical location is here and here." The officers pointed at different "red zones", which immediately became hologram feeds of the battle scenes.
"Our fleet there is mainly designed to effectively blockade the entire system. They are orbiting the planet as we speak."
Hammond nodded, watching the different maps move and zoom. He was silently amazed at the technology, but smiled inwardly as he realized that the methods of war had not changed at all.
"Commander! Our scouts report Republic ships are massing in the Lianna system. The system is very near to Ruuria, sir." Hammond frowned. He had not foreseen the Republic would take an interest in such an insect planet. "Assemble two full battle fleets, and alert Dan Zorko that his pirates might be needed. I want to talk to Princ... Empress Jalua Solast immediately. This might be the chance we have been waiting for." Hammond smiled. He had a plan in mind.

The hologram of Admiral Nubai appeared in the room under broadcast from the Royal Palace on Salanda. "Hammond, I was told of your attempts to contact the Empress. I'm currently on station here, what is it you need?" The Admiral said politely but bruntly.

"Admiral Nubai, I would strongly suggest you ready all of you warships for a Republic attack. I would also like to ask the Empress if she would be willing to send a support fleet to Ruuria. Now, please, run to ask your Empress, Admiral, and remember that the Coalition is protected by my Empire, not by your strategic capabilities." As soon as he finished saying this, Hammond regretted this. He liked Admiral Nubai, but he didn't like being condescended to. "We have gathered some information on the Republic's movements, Admiral. My tacticians are sending all of this information to your HeadQuarters now." He said, in an attempt to calm down the situation.

Admiral Nubai himself leaned over the terminal operators and turned off the communication. "Hold it" he instructed a Lieutenant sharply who was reaching for an intercom. "The Empress is busy at the moment and I'm sure she would not like to be disturbed by the unimportance of this message" he concluded with a smile. The Lieutenant hesitated but a facial expression from the Admiral set the officer's feet heading back to his station.

OOC: This is going to be something...it seems all of us have our own plans.
IC:
Hammond watched the rotating planet, alive with lights. He was holding on to the edge of the holotable tightly, dark shadows around his eyes. He knew that once he did this, there would be no stepping down, and his beloved Empire would be thrown into a war that it could not afford to lose.
"Let's go over it again, how large is the mobile defence space centre?" Looking closer at the planet, one could see a very large space station, bristling with weaponry, and a large, oval shield. Around it were smaller space stations, but these were only of secondary importance, as they were controlled by the mainframe within that facility.
"The base itself is very large, it is as large as a cruiser, and more heavily armoured. Shields are at maximum capacity, and the weapons are kept ready at all times. However, the engines operate at minimum capacity, and the space station has only modest retrothrust systems. It can orbit around the planet fast enough to respond to an attack, however, and since it controls all the other platforms, it does not need to move particularly fast.
The planet is heavily armed with hidden artillery, all with orbital capacity and there are also several hundred hidden airstrips, hidden in the lower levels f the city. The planet is protected by a massive shield that is powered by all of the planet's generators, so sabotage is practically impossible. It also means that any fleet that attacks the planet will sustain immense damage while it works to take the shield down.
The second line of defence are the mobile space station and the 1st Defence Grid, which is made up of the largest space stations. Each station has one to two turbolasers and an individual targeting system, although they feed from the mainframe in the main Defence Station. A 2nd Defence Grid is established further outward, with mine deploying systems and electromagnetic pulses designed to counter starfighters and basic systems. We also suspect ion pulses have also been deployed to take down fleet shielding. "
"So the planet can become a minefield and a military base in a matter of minutes."
"Yessir."
"Very well. Make sure that the ships deploy in the tightest formation possible, half the protocol distance."
"Half? But, sir, we'll become cannon fodder! The recoil from the guns after a moment is even enough to close that distance down after a while. They ships will certainly collide if they are hit with high kinetic energy missiles in a concentrate area while they are moving and shooting."
"They don't need to survive. Just make sure that all the lasers are cleared for firing."
The officer looked at Hammond. He did not know what the Supreme Commander was planning, but he didn't like the sound of it.
"Yes, Commander. The fleets are now in position to initiate hyperspace launch, and are forming into position." Hammond sighed. Hs plan was in motion. It would better work.
