"Today, we free Naboo from the Imperial oppression! Take no prisoners! Fight so the peple of Naboo can be heard! Launch all starfighters! ATTACK!" With a massive shudder, the Talon unleashed all of its weapons. Looking out, he saw that his SSD's and Dreadnaught were unleshing a hail of fire. Starfighters were quick on the fire's tail, ready to set off round 2 when the firewors started.

The Imperial Coalition's answer was a single battlegroup. Although small, it could easily hold it's own and lay down a barrage upon the enemy positions. Galor Iram stood on his Star Destroyer, looking down at the emerald planet from the bridge. The R-Wing Starfighters had already deployed and were taking up positions, slowly becoming arrow formations. The ships had fired up their engines and were increasing speed, heading further towards the planet's southern hemisphere. With the ships now painted in Imperial Coalition colours, the fleets looked fresh and modern, bringing now only a sense of fear to civilians but also order. Order is what the Imperial Coalition stood for, and today they would do their bit to maintain it.

The Imperials were surprised by the attack, but they reacted with remarkable speed. Of course, a newly conquered planet can never be left on its own for very long, unless, well, it's not really a conquered planet.
The conquering fleet consisting of 4 Doomgiver Assault Ships 4 Victory Class II Star Destroyers, flanked by 5 Carrack Cruisers on each side. 1 Devastator Class Imperial Warship 10 Nebulon H frigates.
200 TIE Line Fighters 100 TIE Bombers 100 TIE Interceptors
had been deemed too small to hold the Naboo system (actually, too small to continue further invasion of the Naboo system) and had thus been reinforced with several battlegroups:
1st Battlegroup: 5 Victory Class III Star Destroyers 6 Victory Class II Star Destroyers 5 Carrack Cruisers 2 Nebulon H Frigates
Starfighters: 200 TIE Torpedo Bombers 200 TIE Line Fighters 100 TIE Interceptors 100 TIE Avatar 100 TIE Lambda 68 TIE Bombers
2nd Mobile Assault Group 1 Vengeance Class Advanced Star Destroyer 30 Nighthawk Corvettes
Starfighters: 60 TIE Fighters 30 TIE Bombers 42 TIE Lambda
Support Battlegroup: 3 Victory Class II Star Destroyers 5 Imperial Ion Frigates 10 Nighthawk Corvettes
10 ATR Assault Transports 10 TIE Interceptors 10 TIE Bombers 114 TIE Line Fighters
Command Battlegroup (Elite): 1 Arc Hammer 2 Atha Prime Annihilator Star Destroyers 10 Nebulon B Frigates 10 Starblaze Lancer Frigates
Starfighters 300 TIE Bombers 500 TIE Line Fighters 100 TIE Avatar 380 TIE Interceptors 400 ATR Assault Transports
Spec. Ops Imperial Marines: 30,000. Imperial Boarding Shock Troops: 10,000 Imperial Stormtroopers: 120,000.
5 million stormtroopers on the planet. Additionally, 1,000 TIE Line Fighters in airstrips, 100 TIE Bombers.
The Imperials were surprised, but they reacted quickly. They were soldiers, and they were the Empire's best.
The original attack fleet was at its most vulnerable. It was on a level path with the pirates' fleet, and had the smallest time frame to react. Fortunately, however, the rest of the fleet had been interspersed throughout the space, and were in a good position to encircle the enemy.
The 1st Battlegroup plotted a course to engage the enemy's left flank, whilst the 2nd Battlegroup would attack on the left. Meanwhile, the Home Fleet would attempt to hold on, and hopefully have the strength to execute a pincer maneouvre with either the 1st or 2nd Battlegroup.
Upon arrival of the Imperial Coalition, the Support Group immediately plotted a southern course to intercept. They moderated their speed so as to attack the rebels from above. Although small, the Support Group would likely be able to hold this renegade group until help arrived.
Unfortunately, the most powerful imperial battlegroup, which held the Imperial Battle Command, was on the other side of the planet. It would take several hours (3 or 4 of my posts at least) to get to the battlesite. Once there, however, the invaders would meet true power.

With a swift and brutal move, half of the R-Wing Squadrons flew 'up' towards the incoming fleet. With two proton torpedo launchers per starfighter, they unleashed a deadly barrage towards the incoming TIE Fighter wave. With such distance being closed fast, the R-Wings would have mere seconds to fire their four laser cannons at the remaining TIE Fighters before shooting past and onwards towards the Ion Frigates.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Fleet moved into position and began laying down it's heavy turbolaser cannons to fire upon the Victory Star Destroyers. They had enough numbers to hold back the Imperial Support Battlegroup and continue to hold the line while the remaining two fleets sped towards the surface of the planet.

"Sir, Imperial Coalition has arrived on radar. Imps moving to intercept." Dan was suprised. "Really... Well, that's good. We're going to need all the help we can get. Divert the 7th and reinforce them. Move the 1st and 4th to engage the fleet in front of us. Have the 3rd take the fleet on the rignt, and the 2nd take on the fleet moving to flank us. Have the 5th stay back with the 6th covering them."
With a roar of the engines, the Talon lept forward, along with the rest of the 1st and 2nd fleet. The only fleet that stood between them and the planet were vastly outnumbered and out powered, with the SSD's able to take them on their own. After they broke the line, Dn would send in the 5th to retake the planet.

Imperial Communications:
Delta: Omega, this is Delta speaking. We are under attack, and need assistance, over.
Omega: Roger that, over. We are on course. Repeat, we are on intercept course, over.
Gamma: We have engaged, over. Enemy is withing our sight.
Epsilon: This is Epsilon speaking. Emergency course plot is go. Engines firing now, over.
HeadQuarters: Epsilon, Delta, Omega, this is HQ. Comm. has been compromised, over, comms. have been compromised. Switch to secondary encrypted frequency, over.
All: Copy that, over.
*Scratchy sound as communication dies*.
Support Group: The Support Group's tactic had worked: 14 TIE Fighters, spread out, consisted of the first wave of starfighters. They were destroyed by the proton torpedoes and the massed firepower of the R-Wing squadron heading their way.
Unseen, however, the TIE Interceptors had headed far out into the flanks, and far to the sides, such that they were at the same height as the R-Wings now, but farther away. As soon as the TIEs were destroyed, the Interceptors headed back at full speed, aiming for the rear formation. They would not be within radar range, however, until the R-Wings were nearly upon the support fleet...
Amongst the the Support Group, however, there was very little movement. The 3 Victory Class SDs were taking fire from the second fleet, shielding the more valuable Ion Frigates from the barrage.
Strangely, however, all ships turned off their engines. Immediately, this was followed by a general shut down of all lights, although the batteries continued to fire against the enemy coming at them perpendicularly (OOC: Can anyone else see this becoming immensely complicated?). The hangar doors opened, and the TIEs poured out, one by one. They headed to the back of the Star Destroyers, circled around them, and turned their engines off when they were by their belly side. Covered by the shadow cast by the Star Destroyers, they lay hidden, ready to ambush whatever fighters made the error of coming their way.
Home Fleet The Home Fleet had been ambushed. They were isolated: Support could not get to them in time. However, they were hardened soldiers, all of them, and they would not give up easily.
The Star Destroyers were aligned in two battle lines: The Devastator Warship, along with 2 Victory Class SDs and 5 of the ten Nebulon H frigates were above, whilst the rest of the frigates and the Destroyers were aligned in a second file slightly below and in front of the Warship. The Doomgiver Assault Ships, meanwhile, moved to the back of the fleet where they would be safest. It would be useless to target them first, anyways, as they would not provide any tactical advantage, being mainly empty soldier transports incapable of posing any serious threat.
Once aligned, all of the frigates and destroyers started turning in opposite directions. This would be a complex maneouvre, in which the fleet would be in constant motion in zig zag: One cruiser would zig zag past the other, ensuring a concentration of fire between each cruiser and providing momentary shielding for the ship currently behind. The carrack cruisers would be given free motion, allowed to move wherever the battle was worst.
All Fighters were deployed, and the bombers were made ready. The largest concentration of fighters went to the flanks, whilst most of the TIE Interceptors would hold the centre for the first moments, where the battle was expected to rage hardest. (Fighters occupied the space mainly between both lines).
1st Battlegroup and 2nd Mobile Assault Group: Continuing in course towards target.
Battlegroup C (Position Unseen and Unknown): En route to the battle, on the "dark side" of Naboo. Unseen, Battlegroup C jumps into hyperspace, far away from the battle.

Dan's comm offier slammed his hand against his console. "Damn! We just got their comms, but they switched over to backups! Trying to locate them now." he said, then got back to work.
Dan watched as all the Imp ships turned off their engines and lights. The captain came up to him. "Sir, what are they doing?" he muttered as they watched it. "I don't know." answered Dan. "Retract all starfighters. I don't like where this is going. Have the starfighters off, ut the pilots in ready position. Whe all starfighters are retracted, shut up the hanger. Tell all ships to turn off all nonessential systems, and power down. Send out a message to the Admiral, and advise him to do the same, then shut down the comms." "All ships?" asked the captain. "All of them." said Dan. "All systems except turbolasers and life spupport."
With a sigh, the Talon's engines shut down, and the bridge went dark. One by one, most consoles on the bridge went down. After all starfighters were retracted, the massive hangar doors closed, then shut down. The ships kept firing however, and Dan's SSD's were still providing a load of covering fire.

OOC: I'm betting this move includes all of your fleet Dan. If it doesn't, let me know, and I'll rewrite my post.
IC: Home Fleet "It seems we have a copycat." The Admiral in charge of the Home Fleet (the real Admiral Crat) watched as the entire attacking fleet turned off all of their engines and lights, for the sole reason that the Support Group had done the same thing. It was to be expected, he thought. If Admiral Daois were here, he wouldn't be doing that. "Actually," he murmured, "no real strategist copies his enemy." In his opinion, only a coward would do that. An inexperienced coward at that.
Support Battlegroup (Just to give the set up) The Star Destroyers have formed a phalanx, covering the Ion Frigates below them. The Ion Frigates are heavily protected by the Nighthawk Corvettes, but have ample space to maneouvre.
2nd Mobile Assault Group: "Oh, darn it." Admiral Rae had been given the 2nd Mobile Assault Group. A good strategist, he was reknowned for his ability to strike hard and fast where the enemy was weakest. Nevertheless, as he watched an entire battlegroup break off from the main fleet to intercept him, he felt the beginnings of fear beginning to tighten around his heart. Mighty as the Vengeance Star Destroyer was, it could not take on six or seven capital cruisers encircling it.
Then the enemy Admiral made a crucial mistake. He turned off his engines.
"All power to the left thrusters! Plot an emergency course towards that Flagship!" He pointed at the Talon. His ship was at an elevated angle to the main fleet, and he would therefore be able to plow through space, directly into an excellent position to harass the smaller flagship. Furthermore, with their engines turned off, and possibly even their main systems down, the incoming fleet would only be able to watch uselessly as the Vengeance Star Destroyer sped past them.
1st Battlegroup. Likely the best prepared battlegroup to fight a head on space battle, the 1st Battlegroup engaged the enemy ferociously. They would have a not small advantage: They were rotating with the planet, and the Sun was behind them. This would blind enemy craft, and make it difficult to assess the true size of the fleet opposing them.
Admiral Crow had readied the fleet as best he could. Set out in a multilayered phalanx (1 Victory Class III SD on top, 2 Victory Class II SDs below, with the rest in a phalanx in the middle and the frigates operating at different heights as support craft), they were well prepared to face a head on battle.
"All power to the..." The enemy had turned off their engines. This could only mean one thing: All power to the forward shield generators and frontal turbolasers. Rapidly, Crow changed his mind.
"All craft, change attack angle to -30°" This would mean the battle cruisers would actually go below the capital cruisers, attacking the weaker underbelly. "Redirect power to the engines and frontal shields. After we have begun to pass them, redirect all power from the engines to the shields and turbolasers, and change attack angle to +10°." Such a change would put the cruisers under enormous stress, but the possibilities were endless if they could handle such an angle.
Crow smiled. The distance between his fleet and the enemy was too small now. Even if the enemy commander reignited his engines, he would be too late to prevent the Star Destroyers from moving beneath him.
OOC: The board is set, the pieces are moving....

Dan started as the ships started moving again. "Son of a sith, it was a trick!" he yelled. "All power back on!" Dan watched as the Talon was about to be rushed by one of the battlegroups, with the main fleet coming at the first from the bottom. "We need power NOW!" he yelled. "Sir, we don't have enough time to restart everything!" said one of the crewmen. "Then divert all engine power to shields! Open up the hangars and launch the starfighters!" "Not enough time sir!" he was told. "Can ANYTHING intercept?" "No ships have their engines back up yet!"
At this point, 5 newly made Nebula-class Star Destroyers, each flanked by 2 Nebulon-B II frigates pulled out of hyperspace. "Sir, those are ours!" "Excellent! Have 3 of the Nebulas and their escorts harrass that incoming fleet, while the other 2 intercept that Star Destroyer."
(Seriously, have you ever seen me go into a battle without an ace?)

Galor Iram ordered his fleet to pull back, but luckily they had kept their systems online and engines running at full capacity. Since the conversation with his daughter, Galor Iram had seen a bigger side to things and had ordered his fleet to stop firing. Soon enough the Remnant Fleet would hear the news of the treaty and stop chasing them. So within the first hour, the Imperial Coalition Battlegroup had returned to formation and was heading for the point where it had landed. Hearing footsteps approach him has he walked onto the bridge, he turned and saw the face of Admiral Qu'Sar. "A bit of a problem we have. A ceasefire with the Remnant and an Alliance with the Pirates. Both are fighting and we are stuck in the middle... time to bring both sides together to lay down some demands?" Galor asked thoughtfully. "You mean us being the diplomats?" Qu'Sar asked, reading Galor's mind. "Why not? Both sides are currently fighting over a planet but neither have expressed their reasons for attempting to take it. Contact both sides and tell them to stop fighting. Also tell them that both sides should send diplomats to Theed so that the talks can begin, we will send our own diplomats to oversee the meeting" Galor ordered, confident that this would improve the image of the Imperial Coalition, with both parties and maybe lots of systems and governments throughout the Mid Rim.
OOC: Choose to ignore or accept if you wish, I'm just generating possibilities. You could even lay down demands and then continue fighting?

Incoming Message. Quantum Encryption. Top Priority.
To all Imperial Battlegroups: Do not engage in battle with the Imperial Coalition. Home Fleet: "What in the name of the Force?" Admiral Crat looked at the fleet heading for the southern part of the hemisphere, and recognized the logo from the encrypted message. "Oh. I hope that message is right." If there had been some mistake in sending this, the Support Group would find itself in a very difficult position indeed, unable to open fire upon the Imperial Coalition cruisers. "Main fleet is within range. All fleets have targeted their head ship" "Open fire!" With that, the Home Fleet opened fire on the enemy, sending thousands of shells, turbolasers, missiles and ion shots at the leading ship, with some covering fire at the rest of the fleet. 2nd Mobile Assault Group. Admiral Rae smiled as he left the task force sent to deal with him far behind, having passed them without even having fired a shot. Their commander would be cursing by now... "Admiral! New cruisers incoming!" Admiral Rae walked to the window, and saw that a new detachment of Star Destroyers had been sent to deal with him. It was useless, however. They were still too far away to open fire on the Vengeance SD, and they were nearly upon the ship at the head of the enemy phalanx. "Redirect all power to the shields and open fire on the head ship. Have ion cannons and missile launchers target the bridge area." As he gave the orders, he looked once more at the Nebula Star Destroyers. "Ready the starfighters and keep some turbolasers ready to exchange emergency counterfire." 1st Battlegroup The 1st Battlegroup had done it. The enemy cruisers were above them. "Open fire, men! Open fire!" The Star Destroyers brought all of their weaponry to bear on the cruisers above them, concentrating their fire on small areas to drain the shields. "All starfighters have been deployed!" Over 700 Starfighters had now been launched against the enemy, the TIE Bombers and TIE Torpedo Bombers flying in squadrons escorted by the Fighters. They flew "upside down" and launched their explosive cargo on the cruisers, causing enormous explosions. This barrage would continue for some 10 minutes before they had shots at their engines. It would be ample time to wreak havoc on them, and possibly even destroy some of this pathetic fleet. Support Group. The Support Group was in an awkward position. Their attack configuration was meant to deal with the Imperial Coalition, but now.... The TIE Interceptors opened fire, but immediately deviated their shots as they recieved a counterorder. They roared past the R-Wings back to the fleet. All retro-thrusters were ignited again. The Star Destroyers ceased in mid-space. There was a tremendous roar as the engines were reignited, launching the fleet against Dan Zorko's detachment. The enemy admiral had acted too quickly: By attacking the Support Group at perpendicularly, and turning off all of his systems, the Support Group could actually, by igniting just some of their engines, attack the detachment's weak underbelly, and avoid most of the enemy counterfire. Immediately, the fire against the pirates intensified as the Star Destroyers re-targetted their new enemy. Imperial Message to Imperial Coalition: Report status immediately. Order fleets to stand down, and increase altitude to equatorial plane. Stand by for further instructions. Failure to comply will result in the utter destruction of the Imperial Coalition Forces within Imperial reach, and the further dissolution of the Imperial Coalition. Reply.OOC: Dan: Nope, I haven't seen you fight. But this seems like a good fight to watch, anyways. Too bad you're in the worse position.

The Imperial Coalition Fleet awaited orders after receiving the message, Admiral Qu'Sar was dealing with it. "All fleets, this is Admiral Qu'Sar, all weapons should have ceased firing. If not, this is a direct order to stand down. All ships to head to the Equatorial Plane of the planet and rotate with orbit". With the fleets following that order, there was nothing else to do but wait.

Dan was standing at the bridge when a report came in. "Sir, Imperial Coalition has stopped firing and is breaking off!" "What?" Dan asked. "Are you sure?" "Yes sir, they're moving away from the fight!" "Shit..." said Dan. At this time the comm officer came running up. "Sir, message from the Imperial Coalition! They want us to stop fighting, send diplomats to Theed, an-" *BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
All power in the ship went out. Dan was thrown across the room, unconcious for a momment. He came to with the captain leaning over him, yelling something. "...hit to the bridge! We have no shields! Fires all over the ship! Sir, the Talon is going down!" Dan groaned as he stood. "We have to evacuate. Hows the hangar doors?" "Only half open. We'll have to send out the ships one at a time." "So be it." said Dan. "Lets go." The captain shook his head. "With all due respect sir, I'm going down with my ship." "Captain, you can't! This is maddness!" yelled Dan. "No sir. This is how it ends. It's been a privelage, sir. We'll try to save her, but it's unlikely." Dan saw the determination in the man's eyes. He clapped him on the shoulder. "Good luck, captain. It's been an honor serving alongside you." Turning to his Reapers; "Lets go." They ran to the turbolift which was on emergency power. As the doors closed, Dan saw the Captain ordering the crew to emergancy stations. With his Reapers clearing a path for him, they made it to the hangar where the Reapers LAAT/i's were housed, along with ther TIE Defender escorts. The doors to this hangar were fully closed. As all the Reapers made their way onto their ships, Dan made his way into the cockpit of the head LAAT. "Can we open the doors?" he asked. "We're going to have to blow our way out, sir." the pilot told him. Dan nodded, and made his way to the rear of the ship. When everyone was loaded, the ships powered up. The TIE Defenders fired a salvo of torpedo and laser fire, blowing the doors open. The ships exited the Talon. They made their way to one of the newly arrived Nebulas. As Dan made his way to the bridge, an explosion was seen outside the viewports. When he arrived, the captain came up to him, with a somber look on his face. "It's no good sir. The Talon is gone."

The battle raged. All starfighters had been deployed, and the land-based TIEs had caught up with the battle. The Imperial cruisers shook with explosions, but dealt heavy damage to the attacking fleet. Every Admiral in each battlegroup fought their own battle, but the worst pounding was being taken by the Vengeance SD. Caught in the middle of the battle, besieged from all sides, it shook ceaselessly, but continued to fight gallantly, its Corvette escorts covering it as best they could, and swarms of TIE fighters providing whatever support they could.
Then Battlegroup C appeared from hyperspace. They were behind the enemy fleet, having been updated with the latest coordinates by Imperial HQ.
"Redirect all power to the Turbolasers, and commence firing. Target their engines"
The enemy fleet was caught from behind, and they had found stronger resistance than expected in front. Their position would soon be very dangerously threatened, with an additional 1100 fighters added to the battle, and over 120,000 of the Empire's top troopers, they risked not only destruction from behind, but the capturing of their top vessels if the battle did not go otherwise.
Imperial Broadcasting; All Frequencies.
To the Commander of the attacking fleet: Accept your defeat, and stand down. Failure to do so will result in the destruction of all of your command cruisers, and all of your hospital ships. Power down your engines and your shields. Any ships that do not comply will be considered hostile, and will be dealt with accordingly. The leaders of the fleet will be escorted to Theed. A small regiment of troops will be allowed to go with them.
There will be no guarantees. You have 30 standard minutes to comply.
To the Imperial Coalition: You may send whatever representatives you wish to Theed. They will be escorted by Imperial Fighters, and their safety will be guaranteed.
Fleet Admiral Daunting waited for an answer. He stood at the bridge of the Arc Hammer, and watched the battle rage on. He wondered whether they would give up. He admired their courage, but it would be foolish of their commander to allow so many lives to be wasted in vain. Hopefully, however, the threat to destroy their command ships would be enough to pacify them. Although it was a lie, he doubted the enemy would know that.
