Dan pondered for a second. "We should probably get back for our dogfight tomorrow. I want to be there for that." he said as he stood.

"Sure" she said, opening the door and holding it for him to also exit. "Well I'll get us a better ship to take us than that shuttle, I'm already tired" she said, nodding to an escorting officer who began to relay the order. Finally making it to the hangerbay, she saw the ship already being loaded up. It was a new gunboat, a Coalition design which had recently came out of Nubia. "The Hawk-class Gunboat" she said as she approached, it was the first time she had gotten a close look at these, but she had approved the plans so knew roughly what it would be like inside. Entering, she was shown to the rooms, conveniently, the crew had made two rooms available next to each other. It was here that Jalua headed to get some sleep, she was tired after so much travelling and paperwork, even on the shuttle heading here she had done some extra to free up some time. Once she hit the bed, she was off like a baby, dreaming of the future.

Jalua ran through one of the many corridors in the MCAV. It had been cruising in open space for the last couple of weeks, providing a much needed rest for it’s crew and the Royals onboard. The MCAV might have been huge and expensive but it was designed to be aggressive and deadily rather than luxurious. The corridor wasn’t really that special, and the only thing differing from a usual starship was the amount of armed soldiers and marines on duty. When she passed, these quickly moved to the side, stopped and saluted until she had passed. She had been jogging for three miles, which she did every two days to keep her fitness levels at a good enough level. It wasn’t a great distance and neither was it too tiring, but it gave her good health and fitness for the battlefield.
She finally arrived at the door to her part of the MCAV. It was deep inside the ship and things here was a little better, warm flooring, styled walls and generally more everyday furniture was placed around the rooms. In the room she had just entered was a large open space only disrupted by a glass table, a sofa and two chairs around it. Sat there was Jaya, sat on the lap of a droid designed to take care of her when her parents was occupied with their other duties. Although there was many good droid designs out there, this one was unique and had been built from the ground up to protect the Princess and look after her. Jalua headed straight for Jaya as she entered, picking her up and holding her close. Jaya immediately raised her arms to her mother and a small smile appeared on her face. Jalua eventually placed her child back into the arms of the droid as she headed to find Dan. She had felt Jaya’s own personal signature of sorts in the force before she got to the door, but she had to focus a little to find Dan. She did so but also felt others, so headed for the room she knew he would be in.
Being Prince of the Imperial Coalition was no easy task, but Jalua was amazed at how easily he had got into his roles and picked up the loyalty and respect of those who now served under him. Since Jalua did not just focus her work completely on the military but also on the people, he had picked up a few of her most important and regular duties including speaking to the Generals and Admirals for a briefing on the war progress. Jalua did not enter the room completely but instead peeped around to show that she was here to Dan. Since the vessel was of such importance and carrying the state leaders, it was keeping it’s location a secret to the highest levels. As such, holograms of the Generals and Admirals appeared since they could not make it in person, and the briefing was taking place only for fifteen minutes. Even so, when the hologram projector picked up her face, it included her in it’s designs. As such, the military personnel stood up to attention but Jalua waved it off. After Dan recognised that she had returned, she headed to get cleaned up and changed into more suitable clothing for her duties today.

At the bridge of MCAV-One sat Admiral Price. He had being using the MCAV to run his management of the fleets but lately with all of this covert travelling, he had also gotten some time to relax. His crew had been working none stop providing security protection to the Empress for the last few months, either that or keeping guard against attempts on her family. Although it might not sound like hard work, there was numerous attempts to get at the Empress by militants and Imperial Parties. As such, the MCAV now came with it's own small fleet which could escort the huge ship or be positioned to lay out support amongst numerous star systems and provide adequate advanced detection and defence.
Price ran his fingers threw what was left of his hair and straightened up his uniform. Standing up, he walked from his chair at the centre of the bridge to the front where his officers were on duty. "We will be arriving from Hyperspace in approximately thirty minutes, I imagine the Empress will want to know of this. Send word to her immediately and prepare the fleet for action stations the moment we fall out" he commanded in his best official voice. With a simple salute and 'Aye, Sir', the Lieutenant walked off to carry out the orders. Right on cue, the Colonel of the Royal Marines arrived on the bridge. The marines reserved a special hatred for those in the Navy, but more so for those in the Army. Therefore, Price found he could easily get the most out of the Royal Marines and their Officers by comparing them to the Paratroopers, the Army equivalent. He called over the Brigadier from the Paras even though he had little to say to the man, he would hopefully provide adequate support when talking to the Colonel.
With a quick salute, the Colonel faced them both, obviously here with an objective. "Admiral, my marine's are ready and in the hanger". Price pretended to look at his watch to see what time it was, knowing that the Marine's always did things quicker than the Paras. "Excellent" Price said with a smile, "I got some good news for you. The Empress is visiting the Gotel on Antar Four, you aren't meant to be going down there but we've decided it is for the best. They have a mining colony on Antar Five where we placed scanning equipment on a joint defence scheme. Unfortunately, they have had 'difficulties'. I believe personally that the mining equipment they have been using was creating the disturbances but it's possible it could be Imperial forces. Your men will be landing at Gorvach Point, where you will be able to set up camp in the forest. Meanwhile, the Empress will be going to Temba Port with the Paratroopers being her official escorts. The Gotal have never had a need for sophisticated sensor arrays and won't know your there when you land after the Empress sets down. Find out what you can from the Rangers and report back, I'm sure if anyone knows what is happening, it is them". The Colonel stood straight and saluted before walking abruptly off the bridge, leaving Price to chuckle. The Brigadier was quite smug, like usual, since the Royal Marines would be stuck in a forest while the Paratroopers being the more friendly of the bunch, would escort the Empress.
Price walked back to his chair and sat down, once again smoothing back his hair. Looking at his crew who was talking in almost silence, he swiftly began to think of possible outcomes ahead. Antar was a border region which although was benefiting from the Coalition, wasn't a great participant. This was probably why the Empress wanted to come here, also because it was meant to be a quiet system. But Price knew from experience that Talasea would be a staging ground for an Imperial Fleet, which was why those sensors had been put into place. If those were malfunctioning, it could easily be due to Imperial Agents on sabotage missions. The Secret Intelligence Agency had done a great job so far with tracking down these agents, but even he was doubtful that any would get picked up crossing the border in these distant parts.
Price knew that whatever happened within the next day, the MCAV would be able to handle it. Escorting it was twelve Chariot Star Cruisers and a mixed assortment of Star Destroyers which had been sent to the back of the line for rest after these few harsh months. All together, this fleet could take on an Imperial Attack Squadron or even a small invasion force. But what really seemed to save lives was the actions of the five-thousand Royal Marines and Eleven Thousand Paratroopers who always seemed to find some way of avoiding a large-scale confrontation. Price only hoped this would pay true yet again, hence the Marines would be ready on Antar Four in case anything happened down there. It was with these final thoughts that the Admiral's attention was brought back to the present with the bright flash of the stars rotating and they was there.
