Caedus moved before Mandalore and also bowed to the renewed leader. "I hope you are well Mandalore."

The armour clad figure sat very still for a while, which meant that he was knowlegable about the situation. Krant leaned forward slightly in his throne.
"It is true Ambassador. It was my wish to invade Kuar and especially Bandomeer. Its location is stragetically crucial to me and my people. These two are among the newest gems that shine within the Lak'ar Manda'lor."
Krant pressed a button on the arm of his throne. The room darkened further, and holograms of Kuar and Bandomeer appeared before them. Krant leaned back in a more relaxing position, still holding on to his scepter.
"As you know, war is the way of my people. I do not wish for war now, however. War is about honor and glory in the eyes of my people. To cut down an enemy in the open field is the greatest honor to be gained by a warrior of Manda'lor during their life. A war with your emperor now would gain us neither. To fight an enemy with their leader holding on for life in a hospital is unnaceptable! These laws are dictated by the code of Mando'ade."
Krant pressed another button and Bandomeer dissapeared. It was replaced by the planet Vjun. The planet Kuar also remained.
"I have a proposal for your government Ambassador."

Mattuck frowned, realizing what Mandalore was suggesting. "Kuar is strategically located to serve as the perfect staging point for an in-core invasion. Even if we considered allowing you to keep Kuar, your fleets would be unable to cross, and you would be subject to enormous taxes, as well as the laws imposed by the Empire on the trade of potentially harmful materiel, or material that could be used to make weaponry. In short, you could either use Kuar for farming or for stockpiling, neither of which could be useful." Mattuck paused. "Also, I must stress the fact that you have stabbed us in the back. You attacked without warning, and now claim these 'two jewels' as your own. This in itself is, I repeat, an act of war. My Empire is currently acting mercifully by not launching a full scale retaliatory attack against you. You gave neither warning nor time to assess the situation, and as such acted with extreme dishonour. How can we trust that you will keep your word in the aftermath of these events? How can we even think of giving you another planet when you take whatever pleases you whenever it pleases you? Your bloodbath at Bandomeer, and your surprise attack at Kuar has destroyed your people's honour. Most specifically, it has destroyed Your honour, Mandalore, to the face of your people. I believe you are an honourable person, but most of your people will be shaken and ashamed at having struck a friend in the back." Mattuck stood his ground defiantly. The Empire would not give in to appeasement policies. He pondered for a second or two, and decided that if Mandalore wanted to play trading games, it was better to play along. Ambassador Mattuck moved to the map, and operated the controls quickly and skillfully, as only a Mandalorian would. Soon enough, the Imperial and Mandalorian territories appeared, the former in gray, the latter in dark blue. Vjun turned gray again, as did Kuar, while Bandomeer remained in the Empire's control. "If you wish to avoid a conflict, and regain your honour, then it would only be just if your fleets retreated deep within your territory."
Mattuck continued, and grey arrows appeared throughout the Mando-Imperial Border. Some blue arrows also appeared, but lesser in number and size. "Your navy, while superbly trained, is no match in size for ours. We could take several of your worlds while your forces all defend against a few of our fleets. Doubtlessly a war would be costly, but it is feasible that we would win, and that, even if we did not, Mandalorian losses became so great that further expansion would become impossible. Obviously, this is in neither of our interests."Mattuck thought some more; his head was racing to avoid a war with the Mandos lest he pay for it with his life. "Now, although you have already committed an act of war, it is also perfectly within the realm of reason that the High Imperial Command could grant you rights to some planets for some time. We could, for example, allow you to mine in Telos, and have Mandalorian jurisdiction over all of the planet's economy, in exchange for Imperial bases within the Mandalorian Empire. You need materials, food, ores, gasses. We need security. Now, we cannot and will not allow you to claim whatever planets you please as your own, but we can allow you to exploit some planets that may be of use to you, although not ones that will further your war efforts. What say you?"OOC: Edited for only slightly better reading. No way you're keeping Kuar. It's a matter of National Security. Would you allow me to keep a weapons stockpile on Mandalore, with an army large enough to take possession of this planet immediately? I didn't think so... As for Bandomeer, it's also strategically very important. Plus, the fact that you took either of these planets (well, you = Mandalorian faction) without awaiting for a reply (i.e, the planet was taken in one post) makes me even less willing to let you keep anything. Are you sure you are ready to fight me? Do you really want to do this?

ooc: yes a recent gift from Mandalore....and we would not pay taxes because it is part of our empire. Or are you trying to say that our empire must pay taxes to you now?? and cutting an empire off from their planet also qualifies as an act of war.

OOC: Darn it. They beat me to it. As for Kuar, you would have to pay Customs taxes for using my trade routes and occupying my air space and hyperspace. The planet in itself is isolated from the rest of the Mando Empire. It's spot on the middle of mine! And edited my post.

ooc: You need to adjust your post. Delso did not kill on Kuar. Only occupied it. It was merely a summary of the planets history in the first paragraph.
Mandalore chuckeld a bit. The throne room echoed his amusement. The Empire has been too blinded by their own ambition to see what lie in front of them. After seconds passed, Krant glared at the Ambassador. His anger had been rising. He began chuckling again. This imperial is quite amusing.
"I'm afraid that the label of "traitor" does not fit me well Ambassador. There is a single, critical flaw in that brash accusation. You see, for my empire to betray yours, we must both first be allies. You agree? Come now do not be so naive as to think that General Delso and his forces were going to work together with you in an allied attack to defeat the sith. The same Sith Lord that you forged an alliance with months earlier. They fled into unknown space because of your betrayal, and i can assure you and your Emperor that they will return. No ambassador, we would not have given aid. Your Emperor had brought an armada to Mandalore's doorstep, and it is no longer clear who can be trusted. We were protecting our people Ambassador, from whatever enemy that reared its head." *Silence* Krant had calmed himself down a bit. He began twisting his scepter around in his hand, almost as if he were bored.
You continue to damage you relations by insulting me and my people. So my people have lost the pride and honor of the code Mando'ade you say? And we need to meet requirements that your government has set out in order to regain that prestige? I do not think so Ambassador. You and your people will do well to leave the interpretation of our code to the Mando'ade."
*Krant stood from his throne*
"My offer is this. You may return Kuar to your fold, but Bandomeer will remain within the confines of my Empire. My medical carriers continue to race toward your emperor. I wish him well."

"My Empire's medics are very capable of healing Hammond. Release Bandomeer and Kuar, or face the consequences." Mattuck's face tightened as he realized this meeting was coming to a close, a very hostile close. "What is the Jedi Council's point of view on Mandalore's hostile actions?" He turned to Caedus, knowing already his obvious preference for the war-thirsty mandalorians.
OOC: I said surprise attack at Kuar. That's pretty much what it was.

Caedus Sadow had remained silent during the negotiantions. He functioned as more of a check between powers than a party in the arguement. These proceedings were not going well, both sides had their rash acts. The empire simply ignored the sith threat that loomed over them all, and lets just say a meeting with Mandalore was not the best choice to talk someone out of war. Now the arguing had subsided. The jedi knight thought for a moment at the Mattucks question. It would be better to give the council's views rather than his. Caedus stepped forward and took a deep breath. "The behavior of the Mandalorians is unothodox and regrettable to say the least. Your Emperors resume is very clouded as well, but now is not the time for war. We must focus all of our efforts on The Dark Lord of the Sith. The planetary issue is another matter completely. The council did not brief me on the planetary situation, however if you wish to hear my views then i will express them."

"Well, the Council forgets then, that however many dealings the Empire had with the sith, in the end it was the Empire that first brought forward the idea of a United Front against them. It was John Hammond's brainchild that envisioned a false attack against Mandalore II, with a subsequent assault at Ziost, in which the Allies would encircle the Sith and kill them. Of course, the Jedi fled because of a leak in the Black Moon organization, which was personally dealt with by their Grand Admiral. Failing this strategy, we retreated, and now Mandalore claims it was this attack which ended our treatise. In fact, there was no real attack against the Mandalorians by the Empire. Period."Mattuck was going crazy. Did nobody remember basic political facts? Geez. He understood that all of the allies had been wary of the plan; after all, if they were betrayed they would have been vastly overwhelmed, but they had all agreed to participate. Except of course the Mandalorians, who had been planning not to, apparently. "Now, I must state a rather rash change of course for the Empire. We are no longer interested in pursuing the Sith threat, unless the Mandalorians back down from Bandomeer and Kuar, and offer a large gift of Beskar metal. If they do not do this, then we will be forced to declare war, and raze the Mandalorians from the galaxy. Tell this to your Council, and ponder this in your mind, Master Jedi. Is the galaxy strong enough to stand against the Sith without the might of the Empire? Will you risk this?"OOC: All of this is true, actually....

"Ambassador I must protest this movement. It is against the wishes of the Jedi Order." Caedus jumped from his seat, face hardened. "Your words are empty Ambassador...I emplore you to see reason. If you declare war now, the galaxy will be weakened. Too weak to repel the sith threat. If you do this you play into the Dark Lord's hands. If you enter this war...there can be no victory...only death, destructiion, and oppression."
Caedus walked hurridly sp? over to face the diplomat.
"Look around you. Over the centuries no people have answered the call of war like the Mandalorians, yet even the lower their sword. You want this? For what reason? You would ravage the galaxy over one of the thousands of planetary systems scattered across the galaxy? I'll not believe it. You came here today looking for a reason to go to war."
Caedus turned and bowed deep to Mandalore, before turning on heel and slowly starting to make his way down the hallway.

OOC: Hey... Krant's the one who took my planet. Now he refuses to give it back!
Mattuck frowned once more. Lately he was frowning a lot. "Then the answer is obvious, isn't it, Master Jedi? Mandalore should give back Kuar and Bandomeer, and avoid an armed conflict." This seemed a simple solution. It was the Jedi Master's rashness and lack of proper hearing aids that did NOT allow him to see that Mattuck was trying to get back the planets that had originally been Imperial property and had been taken in a violent act in the past days.

ooc: haha its one planet bro. Do a better job of listing your systems. Not everyone sees the admin board. Besides... How many more do you have than everyone else? tons! just chill out.
"It seems so, unless Mandalore can be convinced otherwise. I shall inform the council what has traspired here." He called over his shoulder as he walked out of the throne room.

OOC: No. I just don't like it when characters keep walking out one me. And I am chilled out. Just wondering how the jedi keep taking sides even though they shouldn't, hehehehe. (Plus, I'm actually not avert to fighting or remaining at peace... read the Maw analysis of a war you're right on that) IC: "Master Jedi." Mattuck bowed, even though the Jedi, in his anger, had forgotten the basic rules of conduct, and refused to address the Imperial dignatary properly.
